If art is meant to make us question the world around us, then Brent Ray Fraser is a bona fide Leonardo da Vinci.

The painter works with a familiar medium — paint and canvas — but his, ahem, tools, vary from the norm.

And by that we mean his penis. He paints with his penis.

Fraser recently appeared on France’s Got Talent to show off his, for lack of a better word, talent, by penis-painting one of the show’s judges. Ballsy move!

We have to wonder if the other judges felt shafted.

The crowd. Went. Wild. Although it’s a bit tough to separate the shock value from the actual degree to which anyone was impressed.

With all the respectful articles timed to World AIDS Day now a week behind us, it’s time for some humor to be injected into the solemnity. Of course, there’s no one better qualified than Sherry Vine. The most fearless and raunchy drag queen on the planet has just released “Truvada,” a very topical number about HIV prevention meds sung to tune of “True Colors.” Be aware that you will never hear Cyndi Lauper’s poignant classic in quite the same way again.

“When I got the idea, I started texting Josh (Rosenzweig, creative producer for the clip) and his boyfriend Karl asking, ‘Can we really do this?’ and we all thought why not as long as it is not preachy or condemning anyone for their choices,” Vine told Queerty. “And then upon further discussion we realized we could actually open a dialogue about this very complex topic using our brand of humor.”

Vine said she then wrote the lyrics and recorded the track, while Rosenzweig worked on the concept and storyboarded the outline for the video and Francis Legge directed it.

“Sherry and I have worked together on dozens of projects together over the course of 20-plus years, from plays, to films to TV shows and, of course, music videos,” Rosenzweig added. “Albeit the majority of them fall in the comedy category and they all had some subtle underlying message or idea that reflects what was happening in the world at that time. And this is another one of those projects.”

Billy Reilich, sometimes known as Ellen’s gardener “Nick,” and other times known for too much self-tanning, is the latest celeb to drop trou for Paper magazine. It’s a vital element in cinematic storytelling. If your protagonist has short hair in scene one, it’s going to be awfully confusing if his locks roll past his shoulders in scene two.

Of course, there are more subtle aspects of continuity that require an eagle eye to pick up on. One Redditor spotted such a discrepancy while viewing the German film Free Fall then watching the Netflix show Sense8, which both feature actor Max Riemelt.

And while the observation has absolutely nothing to do with the story line of either narrative, we can’t help but commend the effort.

In a post titled “Why did the actor who plays Wolfgang get circumcised for Sense8?”, CRISDEARMERO wrote:

So I know this is probably not that important but it is really bothering me. I recently watched a movie that [Max Riemelt] is in called Freefall in which he plays a gay cop. There’s a shower scene where you see his penis and you can clearly tell that he is not circumcised, because you can see the foreskin clearly covering the head of the penis while it’s flaccid. Now, in the [Sense8] episode “Demons” he has his nude scene where there is a close up of his penis and it is suddenly circumcised, as the foreskin is no longer covering the head of the penis. Why would they do this? Did they think it would be more aesthetically pleasing or something?

We’d like to submit into evidence exhibits A & B — the scenes in question.

Thanks to this thing called the internet, it wasn’t tough to track either one down.

First, here are some GIFs and stills from the 2013 film Free Fall, which do indeed show the bishop is clearly wearing a turtleneck (LINK NSFW).

Compare them to these photos from Riemelt’s nude scene in Sense8 (LINK NSFW, OBVIOUSLY), and you’ll see where the confusion arises.

That being said, we’re not sure we can jump to the same conclusion that the 32-year-old actor underwent circumcision specifically for his role in Sense8.

Actors, if you ever see language in your contract that requires getting cut, you should probably have a serious talk with your agent.

Commenters offered their own explanations, starting with the clinical — “There are medical reasons for circumcision, along with personal reasons.”

Another reader had a different take: “He is uncircumcised [in both productions] but has his foreskin pulled back instead to make him look circumcised [in Sense8]. An uncircumcised penis is probably too risqué for American audiences.”

Still not sold? Perhaps the answer is more of an “industry” thing, as another commenter suggested in this detailed breakdown:

I’d say it is a body double [in Sense8], which is silly because the producers should have found someone who was uncircumcised. Here are my reasons why I think this:

1) A few seconds before the [Sense8] close up, there is a shot of the actor’s back side, which gives us a sense of his hair pattern. Namely, he has a lot of inner thigh hair that is missing in the close-up. Certainly, this could have been shaved etc but it is more likely that it was a body double it seems because the hair color doesn’t quite match up either.

2) In the Orgy scene in the next episode [of Sense8] he appears to be wearing a prosthetic that is uncircumcised as far as I can tell. (different length and color from the previous scene) It also appears to have strange buoyancy issues – normal penises tend to be at least neutrally buoyant or float a bit, his appears to be straight up sinking.

3) Both are different from each other and from the scene in Freefall.

“That is a lot of analysis for a dick shot,” responded another to the above list.

At least we can all agree on that, if nothing else.

Kicking off in the summer of ‘89, Silver Lake’s Club FUCK found hosts Miguel Beristain, Cliff Diller, James Stone (pictured, right), and Sweet P beguiling crowds with an ear-stabbing onslaught of clambering industrial noise (think Front 242, Coil, and Ministry), and a series of performance art showcases that pushed the boundaries of… well, pretty much everything, really. There was mummification, modern primitivism, and extreme BDSM: piercing, cutting, and blood-play were the order of the day. Drag queen bingo this was not.

This incredible period in gay history came to a crashing end when it was raided by L.A. vice cops in 1993.

Fortunately, you can still experience the club. Through March 19, Los Angeles’ instrumental ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives presents “FUCK! Loss, desire, pleasure,” curated by Toro Castaño and Lucia Fabio. It’s an exhaustive assemblage of memorabilia related to the club: snapshots, fliers, costumes, court documents and sex toys and it charts the space’s humble beginnings as a sacred meeting ground for “punks, outcasts and the art-damaged” all the way to the highly suspect LAPD raid that effectively shuttered the club in ’93.

Club FUCK! was a direct response to governmental indifference to HIV and AIDS at the time, and, as this exhibit deftly illustrates, the scenes that went down in its hallowed halls were always confrontational: equal parts damaged and damaging, and near-sadistic in its provocation.

As far as nightclubs go, this was the hardest and corest of them all.

“My advice: Talk to your wife about what happened. Stop worrying. If you are still having these ‘low’ feelings, see a counsellor,” the Doc writes. The he adds with just the slightest touch of moral superiority, “And, please, do not do a foursome ever again!”

James has shown off even more (read: everything!) in the gay horror comedy You’re Killing Me.

From home videos to online streaming, “adult entertainment” has oftentimes embraced new technology before the mainstream. Now, the porn industry is, ahem, jumping on another cutting-edge trend: virtual reality.

For the first time ever, Naughty America let people watch its latest VR videos at South By Southwest, and I got the chance to experience it for myself using Samsung Gear VR. The demo lasted about six minutes, and it’s everything we’ve come to expect from modern porn with its cliched scenarios and explicit sex acts.

After Naughty America first tried VR earlier this year, the company is now making VR videos with more-recognizable female stars (or at least, recognizable to straight men who are into that sort of thing). I got personally acquainted with Rachel Starr, Nikki Benz and Kimber Lee, all who seemed like really lovely ladies. Viewers actually get to choose from a male perspective or a female perspective, but according to a woman who watched the female version, it still seemed targeted to the (straight) male gaze.

The main issue with VR video is that it’s not yet as immersive as other VR experiences. It’s not as exciting as going on a VR roller coaster, for example. The models also look a lot bigger than they would in real-life. It felt like watching a very NSFW version of the Attack of the 50-Foot Woman on IMAX.

Not surprisingly, a lot of straight men came to the Naughty America demo at SXSW, and I understand the strong curiosity of trying this thing once. But right now VR adult does not yet come close to simulating real sex, and it’s not vastly superior to simply watching porn on your computer.

Naughty America’s VR porn can be viewed with a monthly subscription of $24.95 and you can watch it using a Gear VR, Oculus Rift, or even on your smartphone with Google Cardboard.
